Erherdt W. Comings, 81, of 3811 Mac Arthur Drive, Manitowoc, died Wednesday evening, June 1, 1988 at the family residence. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Saturday at St. John United Church of Christ, Manitowoc. Rev. Gerald Schrankler will officiate and burial will be in Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Town of Kossuth.
Mr. Commings was born December 6, 1906 in the Town of Liberty, Manitowoc County, son of the late William and Amanda Lutzke Commings. He was a lifelong Manitowoc county resident. He married the former Gerda W. Koepsel on June 15, 1929 at Newtonburg, Wisconsin. Prior to retiring in 1979, he was employed at Erdmann Motor Company for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Gerda; a son, Elton W. of Manitowoc; a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Gary Kabat of Mishicot; a brother and sister-in-law, Willard and Esther of Valders; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Stueck.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 5 pm to 8 pm Friday and at the church on Saturday from 9:30 am to the time of services.
