ALBERT S. YAPLE
(1873-1954)
Albert Sidney Yaple, 82, of 1981 18th St., passed away Sunday at 9 a.m. at his home.
He was the second child of William and Elizabeth MacDonald Yaple, born Feb. 3, 1872, at Pike Run, Vinton County.
He was a car inspector for the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad at Chillicothe and when he later moved to Portsmouth he was employed in the same position by the Norfolk & Western Railway. He retired several years ago.
Preceding in death were a brother, Wallace D., two sisters, Mrs. Thad Hanson and Mrs. William McGhee, and a son, Miles C. Yaple.
Surviving are his wife, Ola Gunning Yaple; two sons, Alfred S. of Washington, D.C. and Leslie A. of Franklin, O.; a daughter, Miss Florence Yaple at home; two sisters, Mrs. Ray Stanhope and Miss Vesta Yaple of Chillicothe.
He was a member of Manly Methodist Church Men's Bible Class and the Masonic Order of Adelphia. He was also affiliated with the Railroad Veterans Assn. of Cincinnati.
Masonic services will be conducted tonight at 8 at the residence. Private funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Levon A. Shaum officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Lynn Funeral Home. The body may be viewed at the residence.
