Catherine "Cathy" Sue Courneya, born February 22, 1941, passed away on November 12, 2018 in the comfort of her own home surrounded by her loving dogs. She joins her late husband, Michael Sr., her high school sweetheart, married on December 5, 1959. Cathy then started her family in Kent, WA moving to the Tri-Cities area in 2005.
She is survived by her sons Michael Eugene Jr., Scott William, 8 grandchildren and 2 great granddaughters. Cathy will be remembered as the loving, joyful and full of laughter, mother and grandmother that was loved by all. Her personality was the life of any room she walked into and her laugh will continue to echo in the hearts of her loved ones. She will always be loved and missed. Per her wishes, her family will be celebrating her life privately.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Courneya and parents Chester Clair and Hazel Catherine (Rosenoff) Van Alstine, Jr., grandparents: Chester and Hattie Matilda (Sinnett) Van Alstine, Sr., and Heinrich Henry and Gladys Mercedes (Kirkham) Rosenoff .
