Doris I. Polzin, age 84, a Manitowoc resident, passed away unexpectedly of health causes Wednesday afternoon, November 14, 2018 at her residence.

She was born on January 8, 1934 in Reedsville, daughter of the late Reinhard and Ella (Pautz) Grimm. Doris was a graduate of Reedsville High School. Growing up on the family farm, Doris came to know the value of a hard day's work and helping others. Everything she took on in life was done with passion and commitment from raising her 5 children to her machinist jobs at Eddy Paper and Mirro Aluminum Company. She loved traveling, family vacations in Eagle River, attending events at the Capitol Civic Centre and keeping up with her grandkids and great grandkids (especially getting the big hugs). She also enjoyed bowling, going on trips with the bowling team, dancing (especially polkas), singing, gardening and visiting with her family and her friends at the Manitowoc Senior Center.

Doris is survived by her five children: Susan (Kent) Miller, Manitowoc, Ted (Joan) Polzin, Manitowoc, Tom (Carrie) Polzin, Francis Creek, Diane (Mike) Blaha, Manitowoc, Amanda (Henderson) Cooper, Los Angeles, CA.; grandchildren: Crystal Heinzen, Matt Heinzen, Jake Miller ( Abbie), Alex Polzin, Justin Polzin and Taylor Cooper; great grandchildren: Clovis Ryan, Brandyn Walker, Halo Miller and Sylas Jaimes; and her siblings: Fern Wolf (Gene), Green Bay, Ronald (Lynn) Grimm, Branch, Karen Blish (Dennis), Manitowoc; and sisters-in-law: Verona Grimm and Helen Grimm. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Rose Kroening and Ethel Pautz; four brothers: Victor, Fritz, Lloyd and Reinie; three brothers-in-law: Elmer Kroening, Lester Pautz, Al Wolf; a sister-in-law: Joan Grimm; father of her children: Roland Polzin; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
