Loren P. Luzier

NEW HUDSON - Loren P. Luzier, 62, of 6878 Mount Monroe Road, passed away unexpectedly Sunday (Nov. 4, 2018) at home.

Born on Sept. 11, 1956, in Olean, he was a son of Robert and Marjorie Corthell Luzier. On Oct. 1, 1977, in Belfast, he married the former Denise C. Totten, who survives.

Loren was a graduate of Cuba Central School, Class of 1975.

While living in South Carolina, he owned and operated his own auto body repair shop. When he returned to the area, he worked for the town of New Hudson Highway Department, where he eventually became highway superintendent. He was currently employed as a heavy equipment operator for the town of Centerville.

He was a longtime member of the New Hudson Fire Company, and was currently the first assistant chief, and was New Hudson Fire Company's representative to the Allegany County fire advisory board.

He enjoyed hunting, spending time in the outdoors, woodcrafts and sports, including NASCAR.

He is survived by his wife, Denise of New Hudson; a son, Drew Luzier of Winslow, Ariz.; a daughter, Abigail J. Luzier of Cuba; a sister, Patricia "Patty" Hunt of Hinsdale; several nieces and nephews; and his granddogs, Taz, Willow and Haus.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Roberta Brown.

Burial will be in Bellville Cemetery, town of New Hudson.
