February 15, 1941 - November 19, 2018 (77)

Life Legacy

St. George, Utah – Artist, author, and retired entrepreneur, Paul Larsen, died peaceful in his home on November 19, 2018 at the age of 77, surrounded by family.
Paul’s story starts on February 15, 1941, the second child to Ernest Hans and Charlotte Grace Larsen. Paul was born in Washington D.C. After World War II, Ernest moved his family back to Lehi, UT where Paul would spend his childhood, grow up, make many lifelong friends, and go to school.
He and several of his high school friends joined the Army National Guard in 1957. He worked in the engineering unit for a couple of years and after his LDS mission he changed to the Intelligent Spy Unit where he stayed for a total of 8 years in the Army.
Paul served a two and a half year mission from 1960-1963 in the Copenhagen, Denmark mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Upon returning from his mission, Paul attended Brigham Young University and was proud to be a Cougar. He graduated from Brigham Young with a Bachelor's degree in Art.
Paul met and married Peggy Ann Taylor of Costa Mesa, CA on September 8, 1966. It was love at first site and she was the love of his life. They lived most of their married life in Orem, UT but eventually retired to St. George, UT where they enjoyed laying out in the sun by their pool, traveling together and most importantly spending time with their kids. They have seven kids together, Wendy, Dusty, Christy, Misty, Jamie, Kelly, and Shawn all of whom love and adore him. They have 23 grand kids and 13 great grand kids.
Paul had a love for the outdoors. He taught his kids to enjoy camping, skiing, swimming, fishing, and most importantly racquetball. He loved racquetball. He played racquetball several times a week up to a few months before his death.
The artist… Paul loved to paint. He has always enjoyed it, but the last few years of his life he dove into it more than ever. He loves to paint flowers and animals. He has a large amount of paintings that he has created.
The author… Paul has written over 10 books. The largest of his accomplishments has been a crash course book in family history. He loved working on family history and has done that for many years. He enjoyed seeking out his ancestors and you would frequently hear him talking about them and their stories.
The entrepreneur… Paul was always heard saying “I could never work for anyone”. That is so true. At a young age, he worked for himself as a salesman selling photography coupons for local photographers. Later in life, he owned and ran his own businesses in the herbal industry. He was the CEO for Natures Herbs, Natural Care and a few others.
Paul was a hard worker and always tried his best to be the best person he could be. He stayed true to his beliefs and had a strong belief in God and Jesus Christ. He knows that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is true and hoped to bring that knowledge to many others throughout his life.
Loved ones that will miss Paul until they meet again are his wife, Peggy Ann Larsen; his daughter, Wendy Larsen of St. George, UT; his son, Dustin Larsen of Riverton, UT; his daughter, Christy Larsen of Pleasant Grove, UT; his daughter ,Misty Pennington and Son-in-law Ted Pennington of Provo, UT; his son, Jamie Larsen and daughter-in-law Emily Larsen of Ypsilanti, MI; his son, Kelly Larsen of Provo, UT; his son, Shawn Larsen of Herriman, UT; his brothers: Bob, John, and Ray; and his grandchildren: Amber Day, Angela Gutierrez, Kory Day, Dustin Jr Larsen, Jantzen Menlove, Britney Swartzwelder, Chanae Cantrell, Brandee Hines, Cortlynn Hamilton, Kresha Turner, Meshayla Hamilton, Zak Wood, Kylee Larsen, Tyler Larsen, Alescia Bash, Jada Hysolli, Jacob Carr, Owen Larsen, Tyce Larsen, Sadie Carr, Leif Augustus Larsen.
