Age 94, of Millcreek, son of the late Caryl Momeyer and Lucille Harris Momeyer (divorced). Fred became a 2nd Class Boatswain's mate and was on active duty until 1950. He served on the U.S.S. James O'Hara APA 90 during WWII. He then served on the U.S.S. Sanborn APA 193 during the Korean Conflict. Fred married his wife Betty Keep on "VJ" day, August 14th, 1945 in San Francisco. He worked as a brakeman and conductor for Penn Central/Conrail for 36 years. Fred loved woodworking, cabinet making and loved to travel.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by, his wife Betty, his granddaughter, Katie Irvine on March 4th, 2004, and a sister Rita Bednar.
Fred is survived by three children, Michael (Valerie Weaver) Momeyer of Erie, Stephen (Kimberly) Momeyer of Athens, Ga., and Laurie A. (Richard) Irvine of Albion, Pa.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
