Minister Alfred W. Polk, Jr., 55, of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2018.
He was a 1980 graduate of Kirkman Technical High School. He enlisted in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge at the end of his service time. Alfred was employed by G4S Company as a security guard. He was a faithful member of Greater Community Church of God in Christ where he served as one of the ministers.
Alfred was preceded in death by his mother, Lurleen Polk.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Valerie Polk; son, Alfred (Labreesha) Polk, III; daughter, Lauren Polk; grandchildren, Zakiah Polk, Levi Polk, and Nova Polk; father, Alfred Polk, Sr.; brothers, Kelvin (Penny) Polk and Gregory Polk; sister, Felicia Polk (Robert) Jackson, all of Chattanooga; several aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 24, 2018 from 6-7 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.Funeral service will be Sunday, November 25, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Greater Community Church of Chattanooga Church of God In Christ with Supt. J. Anthony Taylor as the eulogist.
Burial: Monday, November 26, 2018 at 12:30 p.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
