George F. Barnes Jr. Age 61 passed away on July 20, 2017 at Heartland of Uptown Westerville. George was from Ballston Spa, New York but moved to Ohio where he lived most of his adult life. George was a student of life. He attended colleges both in New York and Ohio where he obtained several degrees. His real passion was reading and helping others. He sat on the board of COTA striving to help those with disabilities find suitable transportation. He was also on the American Council of the blind. George loved interacting with others, listening to classical music, reading and eating out. His quick wit, lengthy conversations, quiet strength and determination which inspired all who met him will be greatly missed. He is pre deceased by his father George F. Barnes Sr and survived by his mother Betty, brother Gary, and sister Jo-Anne.
