FOX LAKE, WI - Lester (Fuzzy) Benike, aged 56, passed away this morning, Saturday, March 14, at his home on Chief Kuno Trail, in the town of Fox Lake. He had been in failing health for the past year.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 17, at 9:00 a.m. from St. Mary's Church. Rev. Roman Rewolinski will officiate at the service and interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, in the Town of Trenton.

The late Lester Benike was born December 2, 1902, in West Bend, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Benike. At 14 years of age he moved to Beaver Dam with his parents, living there until eight years ago when he came to the town of Fox Lake. He had been in the boat livery business at Fox Lake for the past several years. Previous to this time he had been employed by the Weyenberg Shoe Co., at Beaver Dam for a period of 35 years.

He was married to Loretta Ptaschinski, July 27, 1926, in Beaver Dam.

He was a member of St. Mary's Church of Fox Lake and the Holy Name Society.

Survivors are: his widow; his mother, Mrs. Tillie Scherschel of Beaver Dam; three brothers, Clarence of Cadillac, Mich.; and Albert and Robert Benike of Beaver Dam. A number of nephews and nieces also survive.

Preceding in death were: his father, and his step-father Paul Scherschel; four brothers and one sister.

Friends may call at the Kratz Funeral Home after 2:00 p.m. on Monday until the time of the service. A Parish and Holy Name vigil will be held Monday evening at 8 o'clock.
