Walter "Warren" Bodell, 57
Beloved husband, uncle, and friend. Walter "Warren" Bodell, 57, of West Brighton, S.I., passed away at Verrazano Nursing Home after a brief illness on November 26, 2018.

Warren was born in Queens to Walter J. and Gloria (nee D'Alessandro) and was the younger of two children. He was brought to Staten Island when he was 2 when his family settled in South Beach. He had attended New Dorp High School. After his marriage to Kathyann (nee McCarthy) in 1990, they lived in Rosebank before settling in West Brighton in 1998.

Warren worked for over 30 years for Homes for the Homeless as a driver and he was also a summer camp recruiter. He took such pride and joy in helping so many children every summer to give them the opportunity to attend HFH Camps Lanowa and Wakonda.

Warren was loved by many for his generosity and giving spirit. He enjoyed hosting family and friends at dinners and holiday events. Known for his amazing cooking, he cherished his Italian heritage and recipes passed down to him from his Aunt Grazia "Pina" Mancuso, who helped raised him.

Since his parents had passed when he was young, Warren had a very close relationship with his mother in law, the late Vivian D. McCarthy. It was not your ordinary Mother/Son-in-law role. She loved Warren as her own son as he loved & respected her like his very own mother. It was Warren that took such good care of her in her final week of life in 2013.

He is survived by his wife, Kathyann. Cherished uncle of Michael D. Bodell and Derek T. Bodell. He was predeceased by his parents Watler J. (1975) & Gloria Bodell (1984) and his brother Michael C. Bodell in 2017.

As Warren's wishes, private cremation services handled by Cherubini McInerney Funeral Home. Christian Mass was celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church, Staten Island. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
