Funeral Services For Avery Main Set

Avery Main, 75, of Payette, passed away at a Nyssa hospital Mar. 11. He was born in Richardson county, Nebraska, August 15, 1876 and moved to Payette nine years ago from South Dakota. He married his first wife Ellen Berry Main (deceased 10 Aug 1915) in 1895. He was married to his current wife, Ella, at Liberty, Nebraska, in 1916.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ella Main, of Payette; nine sons, Omar of Parma, Alfred of Lime, Oregon, J.A. Main of Payette, Elmer, who is serving in the army, Earl in the Air Force, Max and Wayne of Payette, Chester in the Army, and Walter in the Air Force of Rapid City, S.D.; three daughters, Mrs. Fern Bradley, Hudson, Colorado, Mrs. Rose Bodkin of Phillip, S.D., and Miss Dollie Main of Payette; 43 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ambrose Main of Payette.

Funeral services have been scheduled for Friday morning at 10:30 at the Shaffer Memory chapel. Interment will be at Riverside cemetery.(Independent Enterprise, Thursday, March 13, 1952)
Please note Avery's father moved Barada, Richardson County, NE in 1854. All childern born after 1854 were born on the farm that Joseph owned. Joseph and Almira moved near Avery when they left their farm in the 1890s.
