Michael was born on May 1, 1944 in Polk County, Frederic, WI., son of the late Kurt H. and Lorenda (Bloedorn) Wagner. He was a graduate of Kiel High School with the class of 1962. On October 28, 1972 he married the former Shirley Ann Waack at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Newtonburg. She preceded him in death on December 1, 2013. After his graduation from Kiel High School, Michael was employed with A.A. Laun Manufacturing until 1968. He then joined the Kohler Company until his retirement in 2006 after 38 years of service. He was a member of the Viking Bow and Gun Club and the UAW Local 688. Michael and Shirley enjoyed snowmobiling, camping, and especially traveling to South Dakota.
Survivors include three brothers and two sisters-in-law: David and Linda Wagner, Maribel, Timmie and Mary Wagner, Howards Grove, Steven Wagner, Two Rivers; one sister and brother-in-law: Virginia and Douglas Buchholz, Cleveland; and two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law: Judy and Donald Karstaedt, Newton, Joan Waack, Manitowoc. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was also preceded in death by one sister-in-law and two brothers-in-law: Elaine and Clinton Karstaedt, Milton Waack; one nephew: Eric Wagner; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Alvin and Aletha Waack.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Newtonburg. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Victor Headrick with burial to follow at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church Cemetery, Newtonburg.
