Richard was a loving husband, son, brother, and grandfather. An avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt, fish, and golf. He was a hardworking man of God, a member of Saint Martin De Porres Catholic Church, where he served as a member of the Pastoral Council, a Eucharistic Minister, and ACTS facilitator.
Richard passed away after a hard-fought yearlong battle with cancer. He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Louis Shaw, Sr. and brother, Matthew Neal Shaw.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Gina Scalisi Shaw, his son, Justin Shaw and wife Kaili, all of Lake Charles, his daughter Courtney Castaneda and husband Bernardo of Dallas, TX, and three grandchildren.
He is also survived by his mother, Shirley Ann LeDoux Shaw, sisters Stacy Manuel and husband Danny, Pam Cooley and husband Robert, and brother David Shaw and wife Terri. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Services were held for Mr. Shaw at Saint Martin De Porres Catholic Church in Lake Charles on November 19, 2018 at 11 am, followed by interment in the Saint Lawrence Catholic Church Cemetery in Raymond, Louisiana. Arrangements were handled by Lakeside Funeral Home of Lake Charles, LA.
