Bebe Ham Alexander, 82, died Thursday, February 15, 2007 at the home of her son in Red Bluff, California.

A memorial service will be held at Saint Andrews Cathedral in Jackson on March 9, 2007. Receiving at the church from 9:30 -11:00 a.m. Memorial service begins at 11:00 a.m.

Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Bebe Alexander was raised outside of Clarksdale in the Mississippi Delta.
She graduated from Arlington Hall in Arlington, Virginia and Finch College in New York City. She married Air Force Captain Julian Power Alexander, Jr. in 1945 and moved to Jackson where Mr. Alexander began to practice law. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Neely Ham of Clarksdale, and the daughter-in-law of Judge and Mrs. Julian Power Alexander of Jackson.

Mrs. Alexander was a member of Saint Andrews Episcopal Cathedral where she served as chairman of the Bazaar and other church activities. She was also an active and sustaining member of the Junior League of Jackson and served as chairman of the Carnival Ball in 1960.

Mrs. Alexander began to sell real estate in 1970 and shortly after became a realtor and opened her own office, AB&K Realty. She was an active member and officer of the Jackson Board of Realtors.

She volunteered for many years at the Baptist Hospital and the Women's Harbor House of Jackson. She was a much respected and sought out speaker in the counseling community and helped countless number of people seeking to live one day at a time.

Bebe Ham Alexander is survived by her sister, Eleanor Roessler of Clarksdale and three of her four children and their families; Bebe Clinton Alexander of Florida; Dr. Julian Power Alexander, III of Red Bluff, California and his wife Karen, son Justin and daughter Megan; Corabel Roberts Alexander Shofner of Nashville, Tennessee and her husband Martin King Shofner, sons Alex and Markham, and daughter, Jesse. Her daughter Fidelia Wharton Alexander predeceased her.
