Vahan immigrated to America through Ellis Island in 1912 with his young wife Armenoui Deukmedjian. He may have been in the US previous to that, but went back 'home' to get a wife. He was a shoe worker and he played the violin. He died of general paralyses in the Danvers State Hospital. He left his wife and two small children, Edward and John.
