Amos Robert "Bob" Van Vooren, 82, passed away surrounded by family and friends on Nov. 29, 2018, at Bay Area Medical Center, Marinette, Wis. Bob was born on June 16, 1936, to the late Amos and Priscilla (Newbury) Van Vooren. Bob graduated from Peshtigo High School, Class of 1954.

On June 13, 1959, Bob married the former Catherine "Kay" Brown. They celebrated 59 years of marriage on June 13, 2018, and were looking forward to celebrating their 60th in June of 2019.

Bob served in the United States Army from 1959-1965. He was a life-long member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
In past years, Bob was involved or served on boards for Holy Name Society, Peshtigo Bulldog Booster Club, Dart Ball Tavern League and the Marinette Moose Lodge. As a semi-truck driver for over 53 years, Bob was proud to be awarded with the "Truck Driver of the Year" from Skinner Transport.
He proudly logged thousands of miles of safe driving which was key for receiving this award. Along with driving for Skinner Transport, Bob also worked over the years at Unit Structures, Marinette County Highway Department and Sentinel Structures. In later years he drove school bus for the Peshtigo School District and was the host at Badger Park Campground, lovingly known as "Badger Bob."

Bob is survived by his wife, Catherine (Kay);
four sons : Randy (Shelly) of Nashville, Tenn., and daughter, Catherine;
Todd (Kara) of Little Chute, WI and children: Noah, Jyll and Jana;
Kevin (Jodi) of Peshtigo, WI and children: Jeremy, Mitchell and Ryan;
Brett of Valders, WI and children: Blake and Brooke and their mother, Leslie Spreeman.
He is further survived by his brother, Tom (Wanda);
four sisters: Donna Heim, Antonette "Toni" Marineau, Dorothy Sohr and Cindy (David Casey) Baker;
step-sister, Pat (Jim) Anderla; and step-brother, Fran (Maureen) Mathy;
and a sister-in-law, Jan (Steve) Alt. Bob is also survived by many nieces, nephews and Godchildren.

In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his mother-in-law, Agnes Brown; brothers-in-law: Gary Marineau, Larry Heim, Randy Sohr and Jim Mathy; and niece, Barb (Sohr) Durow.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 4, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Peshtigo from 3 p.m. until the time of funeral service at 6 p.m., with Father Jess Berdol officiating.
