Maxine Hagerman, age 90, of Shell Knob, Missouri, passed away on Friday, June 8, 2018, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. Mrs. Hagerman, daughter of Austin and Elizabeth (Applegate) Philibert, was born September 19, 1927, in Lake City, Kansas. On September 11, 1946, she was united in marriage to James Hagerman in Wading River, New York; he preceded her in death on September 26, 2012. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and was a wonderful cook. Mrs. Hagerman volunteered her time at the Shell Knob School where she was a mentor to young children by helping them with reading.

She is survived by four sons, Stewart Hagerman, of Shell Knob, Randy Hagerman, of Long Island, New York, Ron Hagerman, of Marco Island, Florida, and Jimmy Hagerman, of Naples, Florida; two daughters, Linda Entz, of Eagle Rock, and Helen Hagerman, of Shell Knob; seven grandchildren including Tyler Hagerman, who spent a lot of time with her and she helped raise like one of her own; and several great-grandchildren.
