EAST LUMBERTON - Mr. Sam Tompkins, East Lumberton man, died Monday night following a 2-days' illness of meningitis, and funeral services were conducted Tuesday at the home in East Lumberton. Interment was made in the family burying ground in Columbus County.
Deceased was 55 years old and was well and favorably known in East Lumberton, where he held a position with the Lumberton Cotton Mills.
He is survived by his widow and several children.
