Albion - Joe L. Rhodes, 44, of Albion, passed away on Saturday December 8, 2018 in Fort Wayne. He was born on Oct 11, 1974 in Kendallville to Roger and Leota "Lee" Rhodes. Joe graduated from Central Noble High School in 1994. On September 8, 2007, in Wolf Lake, he married Lin Richards. For the past year, he had been working as a maintenance manager for Heidtman Steel in Butler. Prior to that, he was employed with F.X.I. Joe was the former fire chief of the Noble Township Fire Department, a member of the Indiana Volunteer Firefighters Association, and the Noble County Sheriff Reserve. In his free time, he enjoyed anything outdoors - hunting, fishing, and playing golf. Survivors include his wife, Lin Rhodes of Albion, son, Jeremy (Lisa) Arnold of Kendallville, brother, Jeff (Dora) Rhodes of Virginia, sisters, Renee Rhodes of Kentucky and Veronica Rhodes of Albion. Also surviving is his mother, Lee Rhodes of Albion. He was preceded in death by his father, Roger, and a brother, Brian. Funeral service will be 11:00am on Wednesday December 12, 2018 at Harper Funeral Homes, Albion Chapel, 771 Trail Ridge Road, Albion, with visitation one hour prior. Pastor Dan Carlson will officiate. Visitation also from 4-8:00pm on Tuesday December 11, 2018 at the funeral home. Burial at Wolf Lake Cemetery. Contributions in Joe's memory may be directed to the Noble Township Fire Department.
