Rita J. (Salvi) Carter, age 79, of Uniontown, Pa., passed peacefully Tuesday, May 15, 2007, in the Westmoreland Hospital.
She was born October 15, 1927, in Tower Hill, Fayette County, Pa., the daughter of Michael and Theresa Salvi.
Rita attended the John Wesley A.M.E. Zion Church in Uniontown, Pa.
She was predeceased by her parents and by her loving husband, Paul "Pauli" Carter.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Joseph Salvi of Uniontown, Pa., Jerry Carter of Harrisburg, Pa., Paulette Beckwith of Lansing, Michigan, and Rich (Trudy) Conway of Harrisburg, Pa.; brothers: Joseph Larko of Woodburn, Oregon, and Angelo Larko of Uniontown, Pa.; her dedicated sister, Theresa Larko of Uniontown, Pa.; three sisters-in-law: Helen (Roosevelt) Sumpter, Norma Fulton and Sandra (Raymond) McMillian; 19 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Family will receive friends in the MURIEL E. LANTZ FUNERAL HOME, 297 East Main Street, Uniontown, Pa., on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. where Services will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2007, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Brian McLee officiating.
Interment will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Fairchance, Pa.
