Donna Marie Luckenbill, 88, of rural Fort Dodge, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge. Services will be 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 13, 2018, at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Fort Dodge. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Thursday at Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Fort Dodge.
Donna Marie Wood, the daughter of Walter and Elsie Applen Wood, was born on August 26, 1930 in Green County, Iowa and attended country school in Green County. She was united in marriage to Charles Luckenbill on October 28, 1955. After their marriage the couple made Fort Dodge their home. For a short time Donna worked at the hospital in Fort Dodge. Chuck and Donna owned and operated a saddle shop in Fort Dodge where Donna spent most of her time watching the store. Donna was a great cake maker, making all types of wedding, birthday, and any special kind of cake you would want. Donna enjoyed genealogy she even taught herself how to operate the computer so she could do extensive genealogy research.
She is survived by her husband, Charles; son, Mike (Sandy) Luckenbill of Overland Park, KS; two grandsons, Ben (Trish) Luckenbill and Chris Luckenbill both of Overland Park, KS; and her sister, Marilyn Mathias of Ames, IA. She is preceded in death by her parents and her baby sister, Virginia.
