We regret to mention the sad accident that occurred near Zedler's mill last Wednesday. Theo. Raney, son of Mr. Thos. Raney, an old veteran minister of the Gospel, was thrown from an old gentle, work horse while on his way to the field where he had been planting cotton. He had a bag of cotton seed on the horse which fell causing the horse to become frightened and pitch the boy off. He was entangled in the rope and dragged about 150 yards breaking his neck. His remains were interred in the Leesville cemetery on the following evening.
