BERTHA A. GRIFFIN, 77 OF ELMER, DIES
Bertha Alwilda Griffin, 77 of Elmer, died in a Macon rest home Friday following a lingering illness.
She was born July 13, 1888 in Macon County, the daughter of Daniel and Sarah (Allen) Davison. On Mar. 20, 1916 in Kirksville, she married George H. Griffin and to this union four children were born.
Surviving are four daughters, Leota Paulsen, Jenrose Billotte and Alwilda Dennis, all of Denver, Colorado, and Iris Buchtel of Elmer; three sisters, Allie Johnson of Monroe City, Indiana, Rose Tray of Burlington, Iowa, and Thelma Bell of Denver, Colorado; two brothers, O.B. Davison of La Plata, and Herbert Davison of Ft. Madison, Iowa; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Aug. 10, 1965.
Mrs. Griffin was a lifelong resident of Elmer and was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Elmer.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Assembly of God Church in Elmer. Burial was in the Elmer Cemetery.
