It is with great sadness that the family of John "Johnny" R. Mathews announces his passing at AngelsGrace Hospice after a long illness.
Johnny was born December 18, 1959 and died December 9, 2018 at the age of 58. He grew up in Brookfield WI. He was a professional chef and longtime Merchant Mariner working at sea all over the world. He will be remembered as a sensitive, humble and compassionate man with a great sense of humor.
Johnny is survived by his longtime partner Sheri Storlie, brother Edwin (Tracie) Mathews Jr., sister Stephanie (Jeff) Seitz, daughter Megan (Mathew) LaCombe and granddaughter Evelyn, step-sisters Sarah (nee Sullivan) Doyle, and Judy (nee Ebertsch) Blake and cousins Linda and Michelle Lauby. He is further survived by his aunt Yvonne (nee Patsky) Shortess, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Johnny is predeceased by his parents Edwin and Virjean (nee Lauby) Mathews, step-mother Judy (nee Sullivan) Mathews and step-father Martin Ebertsch.
Private family services to be held at Wisconsin Memorial Park.
