Virginia Pauline McGinnis Christian, 94, of Forest and formerly of Madison Heights, passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2018, at Oakwood Manor in Bedford. She was the loving wife of the late Raymond Lee Christian. Born on February 11, 1924 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Willie Goven McGinnis and the late Bessie Violet Wood McGinnis. Pauline served our country in the United States Navy Waves during World War II and she worked for CVS Pharmacy for many years. Pauline was a Godly Christian woman who loved her family.In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by three brothers, R. Kelly McGinnis, William McGinnis, Jr. and Melvin McGinnis; and three sisters, Ruth East, Elizabeth Coates, and Kathleen Poston. Pauline is survived by her three sons, Ray Christian and wife, Sue, David Christian and wife, Janet, and Jeffrey Christian and wife, Stacey; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, December 16, 2018, at Whitten Monelison Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, December 17, 2018, at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Pastor Tom Bryant officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery. Whitten Monelison Chapel is assisting the Christian family (929-5712).
