Jean A. McCarthy Plaisted, 81, died Thursday at Oneida Extended Care Facility. She was a native of Medford, MA, grew up in the Boston area and had lived on Caughdenoy Road, Brewerton for many years. In 1985, she retired as an executive secretary from Carrier Corp where she had also been a member of the Carrier Women's Group. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Brewerton, was church clerk and volunteered with Vacation Bible School. Her husband of 34 years, Oscar, predeceased her on May 6, 1991.
Surviving are a cousin, Carl Dennis, in Maine; and a friend, Harold "Hal" Hyland of Wampsville.
Services will be on Saturday, May 26 at 1 p.m. in Pine Plains Cemetery, Henry Clay Blvd., Clay.
