A Christmas baby born December 25, 1940 to William and Annette “Nettie” Ciccone of Jersey City NJ, she graduated Georgian Court College, Lakewood, NJ in 1962 with a bachelor degree in Science and Elementary Education.
Lu married Lorrimer “Larry” Mintel in June 25, 1966 in Plainfield NJ.
In 1963, she started working as a first grade school teacher at Union Township Elementary School in Jutland, NJ (Hunterdon County).
After retiring in 2003, she was a full time grandma to her only granddaughter Tess Mariah Mintel with whom she loved hanging out, watching TV, and clothes shopping.
Lu was an incredibly strong and positive woman always greeting everyone with love and kindness. She touched many lives and made long lasting friendships during her life. Lu loved cooking and making homemade spaghetti sauce and always had a warm meal on the dinner table. She also loved going to yard sales and thrift stores with friend Helen and meeting for coffee once a month with her college roommate Betty.
She was predeceased by her brother Donald Joseph Ciccone.
She is survived by her husband, Lorrimer “Larry” Mintel, her only son Eric Mintel, and her granddaughter Tess. She is also survived by her sister Teresa Hernandez from New Brunswick, NJ and her brother Dr. Bill Ciccone from Colorado Springs, CO as well as cousins, nieces and nephews.
Lucretia’s service was held on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 752 Big Oak Rd, Morrisville, PA.
