Karl Jorgensen, 92, died Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at the Pocahontas Community Hospital, Pocahontas. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Lampe Funeral Home in Lake City with Pastor Lorinda Hoover officiating and burial in the Lanesboro Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Lampe Funeral Home.

Karl Kenneth Jorgensen was born on January 21, 1926 in Lanesboro, Iowa to Nels and Alice (Schuett) Jorgensen. He was married to Helen Remsburg but they later divorced. Karl worked as a farmer and enjoyed woodworking, traveling throughout the U.S. and he owned his own plane and enjoyed flying. He was a kind man who also loved animals.

Karl is survived by his nieces and nephews, Don & Dorothy Jorgensen of Lanesboro, Dennis and Crystal Jorgensen of Lake City, John and Tove Barber of Copenhagen, Denmark, Ann Link of Sacramento, CA, Mary Alice & Gary Spivey of Bellvue, NE, and Karla Sherer Wherland of Minneapolis, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother and sisters Raymond & Grace Jorgensen, Genevieve & Kenneth Sherer and Sylva & Dr. Gordon Barber, nephew Warren Jorgensen and great-nephew Christian Barber.
