Ned Nathaniel Jacobson
September 21, 1933 - December 27, 2015

Ned worked as a timber faller most of his life, falling his first big timber on his family’s land with his father, Elmer, at age fifteen, and laying his last tree down at his grandson, Timothy Young’s home in McCleary in 2011. He retired with Fuller Logging of Shelton, Washington and Simpson Timber Company in 2002.

He married Claudia Mae Michaelis on June 1st of 1970. They resided in Shelton, Washington until 1976 when they moved to family property on Sand Creek Road in McCleary where they resided together until his passing.

He was a die-hard Seattle Sports Fan, and he enjoyed fishing and hunting his entire life, camping, gardening, and working on anything that needed fixing or mending.

He and his wife, Claudia, were able to travel to nine other states and enjoy the U.S. after their retirements, making several trips with their children and grandchildren.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Claudia Mae Jacobson of McCleary; children, Theodore Jacobson, Debby Robinson, Michael Jacobson, Chad Jacobson, Carri Comer, Brook Cobb and Erica Roberts; stepchildren, Bonnie Anderson, Troy Gamber, Tammy Gamber, Verella Morrow, Libby Gamber and Jody Heller; and many many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer B. Jacobson and Esther M. Jacobson; two daughters, Candy Jacobson and Susan Lawson; a stepson, Michael Gamber and two sisters, Althea Ayres and LuBeth Vaughn.

A visitation will be held at the Coleman Mortuary on Monday, January 4, 2016, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

A graveside service officiated by Pastor Georgia Self will be at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, January 5th at the McCleary Cemetery. A celebration of life will follow at the McCleary VFW.

Direction is by the Coleman Mortuary, 422 – 5th Street in Hoquiam.
