10 August 1861,at Elyria,Lorain Co.,Ohio to serve 3 yrs. Co.I 8th Regiment..Was discharged 10 Jan.1863. Was wounded at the battle of Antietam and papers say he was unfit for duty for 61 days.Gun shot wound of the face,fracturing the jaw.
14 January 1864,re-enlisted at Toledo,Lucas Co.,Ohio.
Co.B 67th Regiment.Discharged 10 Dec.1865.
From all accounts, Warren was wounded numerous times. His eyesight was affected also.
Warren literally grew up in the service. At his first discharge he was 5ft 7 3/4 inches tall and the second dischage he was 5ft 11 inches tall.
