Alfred Eugene Barr age 84 of Sweet Water, AL died December 22, 2018 at his home. He was born March 5, 1934 in Nanfalia, AL to Samuel Earl and Claudia Barr. He was a former paper mill worker and farmer and a member of Nanafalia Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Boler Barr; son, Gary E. Barr (Beverly); daughter, Nechia B. Sharpe (Alan); three grandchildren, Adam Sharpe (Jennifer), Suanna Bridges (Justin), and Warren Matthew Barr; five great grandchildren, Grey Sharpe, Nate Sharpe, Katy Sharpe, Sadie Bridges, and Avery Bridges.

Visitation will be held at Nanafalia Baptist Church on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 from 1:00 pm until the 2:00 pm service time with Rev. Wayne Sharpe and Rev. Logan Denton officiating. Burial will follow at Geneva Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Sweet Water, AL.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the America Cancer Society or Geneva Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund.
