Delmar H. Alcorn Sr., 82, of Sikeston, MO, died at 4:22 a.m. Oct. 7, 2003, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
Born Sept. 18, 1921, in Pyletown, MO, son of the late Ellis K. and Wrista Fulkerson Alcorn, he was a farmer and real estate broker. A member of Sikeston Masonic Lodge 310 AF&AM, he was a Shriner and member of the Moolah Temple in St. Louis and Semo Shrine Mounted Patrol. Also a member of Sikeston Eagles Aerie 3319, he was a former member of the Sikeston Elks Lodge.
On Dec. 30, 1939, he married Helen Marie Wyman who preceded him in death on Nov. 19, 1981.
Survivors include: two sons, Dan Alcorn, and Sonny Alcorn; three daughters, Peggy Oliver, Pam Wilson, and Judy Hathhorn; one brother, C.D. Alcorn; two sisters, Ruth Chaney and Blanche McDonald; and 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding him in death were two brothers, one sister and one grandson, Jonathan Ellis Alcorn.
Visitation was held at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel where services were conducted with Dan Alcorn officiating.
Burial followed in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Pallbearers were his grandsons: Jason Oliver, Rush Oliver, Jeff Wilson, Matt Wilson, Kyle Alcorn, Tyler Alcorn, Ben Alcorn, Dan Alcorn, David Alcorn and Michael Miles.
