Miss Edith E. Allman, a former resident of Manhattan, was struck and killed by a motor car Monday night in Kansas City, Mo. She was 67 years of age and was cashier for the Fletcher cowherd real estate firm in Kansas City.
Police in Kansas City said they believed Miss Allman, who lived in the Southland hotel, had alighted from a street car and was crossing the boulevard at the time of the accident. She was struck by a car driven by Miss Anna Mead, 39, a nurse in Kansas City, Mo.
Miss Allman resided here during her girlhood days and had attended Manhattan high school and Kansas State college. She had just recently completed a new home at 1415 Poyntz avenue and had planned to retire in a few years and live there.
Survivors include three brothers, Lee Allman, Howard Allman and Will Allman, all of Manhattan; and two sisters, Mrs. Charles Tull of Manhattan and Mrs. Edwin Hubbard, Emporia.
The body will be taken to the Ryan Funeral home where plans are being made for the funeral service.
