Robert Alan Browne, 86, of Laguna Woods, CA passed away peacefully at his home on June 12, 2018. He joins his beloved wife Marjorie Stapp Browne in heaven.

Bob was born June 2, 1932 in New York City to Edwin Fielding Browne and Ida May Henthorn Browne. The couple had a daughter Sheryle Lynn Browne in 1959 but divorced in 1962.

After discharge from the Army, Bob returned to New York and became an award winning hair stylist and business proprietor.

The performing arts, however, was his true passion as he sold his business and moved to manhattan to study theater. While working as an actor and stunt double for actors (Sean Connery and Jack Lemmon), Bob met and fell in love with the screen actress Marjorie Stapp. They married and moved to Hollywood CA in the 1970s to further their careers in television and cinema.

Bob achieved great success as a character actor in Hollywood. He was an original cast member (along with Alan Arkin, John Randolph and Jack Riley) of Twelve Angry Men at the grand opening of the New Henry Ford Theater in 1985. He appeared in over 28 TV series and 17 films. Bob was also a very talented poet.

He is survived by his only child, Sheryle Lynn Browne, his grandson Francis Robert Ferstler and his twin brother Edwin Fielding Browne.

He is preceded in death by his wife Marjorie Stapp Browne, his sister Ruth Pamela Browne Greening and his parents Edwin Fielding Browne and Ida May Henthorn Browne.

Gravesite services were held 19 June at noon at El Toro Memorial Park, Lake Forest CA 92630
