He was born on April 16, 1938 in Madison County, Tn to the late Albert and Ruth Campbell Brown. Bobby graduated from Union University with a Bachelor’s degree In education and was a member of the Bulldog Baseball team. His love for baseball led him to work with many youth in the Jackson area coaching Babe Ruth and American Legion Baseball. He retired in 1998 from Martin Marietta in Milan, Tn. He was a member of White Hall Baptist Church in Trenton, Tn. His favorite hobby was playing softball in the area leagues and travel teams. He loved following his grandchildren and great-grandchildren in sports and was also an avid Atlanta Braves fan.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rose Mary Cross Brown of Trenton and daughter Pam Galloway (Jim) of Trenton, his grandchildren, Kristen Vargason Burkeen of Milan, Kasey Vargason Woelm (Brian) of Millington, and Taylor Galloway of Trenton, 5 great grandchildren, a brother, Mack Brown (Frankie) of Jackson, and a sister, Ann Elston (Jerry) of Jackson. He is preceded in death by a brother, Benny Brown.
The family will receive friends and loved ones at a visitation to be held on Friday, December 28, 2018 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons.
The funeral service is to be conducted at 1 p.m. in the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with interment to follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.
