Genevieve “Gen” Harriet Reynolds, 86 of Coldwater passed away Friday, December 28, 2018 at ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital.
A funeral service will take place at 2:00 pm on Monday, December 31, 2018 at Dutcher Funeral Home in Bronson with Pastor Gregg Cole of Pleasant Hill Missionary Church officiating. Visitation will be held, prior to the service, beginning at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Genevieve was born April 22, 1932 to John and Gertrude (Riepma) Addink in Sioux Center, Iowa. She was a hardworking woman, working for GC Murphy Dime Store, Bronson Plastics and finally as a cook for the State Home in Coldwater, retiring in 1991. She married Owen Reynolds. He preceded her in death in 2003.
Gen was a woman of faith, attending Pleasant Hill Missionary Church. She had many interests including reading, bingo, and an occasional trip to the casino. Gen was a good cook and a great baker. She never followed recipes or measured her ingredients, but everything always turned out fantastic. In her younger years she liked taking motorcycle trips with Owen. Her true joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her patient and loving personality along with her jokes and story-telling.
Genevieve is survived by her children Debra (Tim) Lilly-Condra of Bronson and Thomas (Alice) Reynolds of Fremont; her foster-daughter Beverly (Jim) Sperbeck of Coldwater; her sister Marjorie Schutt of Cedar Falls, Iowa; her brother-in-law Jerry Kinneman of Yelm, WA; her grandchildren Keri(Bryan) Zimmerman, Kevin (Natalie) Lilly, Jason (Chelsea) Reynolds, Brittany (Joshua) Leonard, Dana (Patrick) Burke, Danielle Reynolds, Dawn (Steve) McManamey; her great grandchildren Lukacs, Logan, Landon, Braydon, Samantha, Joshua, Mayson, Dylan, Makayla, Zander, Hunter, Hayden, Drake, Michael, and Kayne; several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Owen Reynolds; her sister Ruth Kinneman; her brother Herman “Buck” Addink; her son Leon Reynolds; and her grandson Brandon Reynolds.
