Brenda Joyce Sharett entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at the age of 73.

She was the daughter of the late George and Leslie Gertrude Wade Sharett. She was the sister of Barbara S. Weatherspoon of San Francisco, CA, Claudia S. Agnew (Gilbert), Sandra S. Brooks , Gilda R. Sharett and the late George Sharett, Jr. Brenda was the aunt of John and Karl Weatherspoon, Dan Agnew, Jr. and Sharett L. Brooks; great-aunt of Corey Weatherspoon, Dan, III, Dana and Shakia Agnew. She is survived by a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

Brenda was a 1963 graduate of Booker T. Washington Senior High School in New Orleans. She earned her undergraduate degree from Southern University at New Orleans and obtained a masters degree from Northwestern University in Natchitoches, LA.

A retired educator, she taught at Pineville High School in Pineville, LA; St. Mary’s Academy, L.E. Rabouin Vocational High School and retired from Carter G. Woodson Middle School in New Orleans in 2004.

Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery and Mausoleum, New Orleans, LA.
