Charles Raymond “Woody” Allen, age 76, passed away on Monday morning, December 31, 2018. He was loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Sevierville.
In 1961 Woody graduated from Pittman High School where he had been a star basketball player. He was a longtime employee of Charles Blalock and Sons where he ran their Newport Paving Company branch office. He served Sevier County from 1982-1994 as a member of the County Commission and then from 1994-2002 as a member of the Sevier County Board of Education. He was currently serving as a member of the Sevier County Beer Board. Woody drove race cars in his early adulthood and was a lifelong fan of NASCAR. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and passing time with old friends. He will be greatly missed, but his family takes assurance in the knowledge that he is now enjoying his new Heavenly home alongside his Savior Jesus Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Virgie Allen and his brother Bob Allen.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy (Henry) Allen; son and daughter-in-law Richard and DeeDee Allen, daughter and son-in-law Robin and Tim Bazer, and his adoring grandchildren Cody, Austin and Lyndee Allen, Kylie and Bryson Bazer and his brothers Ronnie and Fred Allen.
