Corcoran, Pierce Kennedy (August 4, 1996-December 29, 2018) was a brilliant young man full of more faith, perseverance and more love than is seen in men twice his age.

In his 22 years, he tried his hand at every sport possible, developing a love of golf, soccer, tennis and running 2 marathons in 2017.

He became an advocate for eating healthy and exercising daily.

He was in the process of completing his personal trainer certification.
He was employed at Fed Ex Express for the last 5 years and was a graduate of Grace Christian Academy class of 2015.

Awaiting him in heaven are grandparents, “Big” Jim and Sue Corcoran and great-grandmother, Daisy Collins, and great-grandparents Carlos and Ruby Witt.

Longing for him on earth are parents D.J. and Wendy Corcoran, sister and brother-in-law Avery and Timothy Pressley, brother Connor Corcoran, grandparents Benjamin and Elaine Witt, loving girlfriend Jade Adams and family, aunts and uncles Jan Milsaps (Jim), Darryl Thorpe (Jeanne), Marty Bowman (John), Sherry Witt, Missy Corcoran, Corky Corcoran (Paige) and a host of loving cousins.

Family will receive friends 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday January 1, 2019 at Central Baptist Church of Fountain City with a funeral service to follow at 8:00 p.m. with Dr. Tony Pointer officiating.

Family and friends will meet at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Stevens Mortuary to go in procession to Greenwood Cemetery for a 3:00 p.m. graveside service and interment.

Pallbearers will be dear friends and teammates.

Stevens Mortuary at Oglewood Ave and Broadway is serving the family of Mr. Corcoran.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) - A funeral service has been planned for the victim of the deadly Chapman Highway crash that occurred on Dec. 29.

Pierce Kennedy Corcoran, 22, is described in his obituary as "a brilliant young man full of more faith, perseverance and more love than is seen in men twice his age.

Corcoran was born Aug. 4, 1996 in Knoxville, Tenn.

He is the son of Knoxville Fire Department Captain and public information officer DJ Corcoran, a longtime friend of WATE 6 On Your Side.

The services honoring Corcoran's life will be held Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at Central Baptist Church of Fountain City with a funeral service to follow at 8:00 p.m. with Dr. Tony Pointer officiating.

Family and friends will meet at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Stevens Mortuary to go in procession to Greenwood Cemetery for a 3:00 p.m. graveside service and interment.

The driver alleged to have caused the crash is in custody and was charged with criminally negligent homicide, no driver's license, no proof of insurance/financial responsibility. He was also being held on immigration violation charges.

An Oak Ridge man is facing charges in connection to a three-car accident that proved fatal Saturday night.

44-year-old Franco Cambrany Francisco-Eduardo is facing charges of driving without a license and not having proof of insurance following Saturday night’s crash, that occurred on Chapman Highway. Arrest records also indicate that there is a hold on him for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials.

KPD says that his Chevy pickup had been headed north in the 4700 block of Chapman Highway when his vehicle crossed into the southbound lanes and struck a Honda Civic head-on, causing a chain reaction crash that closed the road in both directions for several hours.

The driver of the Honda, 22–year-old Pierce Kennedy Corcoran of Knoxville, was pronounced dead at UT Medical Center, while his passenger was treated there for what were described as non-life-threatening injuries. No one else in any of the other two vehicles involved were injured, including Francisco-Eduardo, who was taken to the Knox County Jail.

KPD says that further charges could be pending the outcome of their still-ongoing investigation.

A 22-year-old Knoxville man died Saturday in a multi-vehicle crash in the 4700 block of Chapman Highway at Gwinfield Drive, according to a media release from the Knoxville Police Department.

The man has been identified as Pierce Kennedy Corcoran.

KPD spokesperson Darrell DeBusk confirmed that he is the son of Knoxville Fire Department spokesperson Captain D.J. Corcoran, who was not available for comment on Sunday.

Police responded to the crash at about 6:39 p.m. on Saturday. According to the investigation, a Chevrolet pickup truck was heading north on Chapman Highway when it veered into the southbound lanes of traffic and hit a Honda Civic driving south on Chapman Highway.

That led to "a chain reaction crash," the release stated.

Pierce, who was driving the Honda Civic, and a passenger in the car, 21-year-old Jade Damecia Adams of Smyrna, were taken to UT Medical Center, where Pierce was pronounced dead, according to the release.

Adams is being treated for non life-threatening injuries.

Both Pierce and Adams were wearing seat belts.

The drivers and passengers in two other vehicles that were part of the crash did not sustain any injuries, the release stated.

Franco Cambrany Francisco-Eduardo, 44, was driving the Chevrolet truck and was arrested and transported to the Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility, according to the release.

Francisco-Eduardo, of Oak Ridge, was charged with No Drivers License and No Proof of Financial Responsibility.

He remained jailed without bond Monday morning pending action by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.

The investigation is ongoing, according to the release.
