COURIER JOURNAL OBITUARY – 09/12/2008.
CORRIGAN - Benedict Rodman Sr., 79, of Louisville, passed away Thursday, September 11, 2008 with family by his side. He was a retired chemist for I.E. Dupont, an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, former mayor for the city of Wellington, member of the Sierra Club, former board member for both the Metro United Way and Cerebral Palsy School and was quite proud of his Irish heritage. He is preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Harriet Simms Corrigan; and brothers, Emmett W. & Maurice Corrigan. He is survived by his son, Benedict Rodman Corrigan Jr. (Shannon); five daughters, Sara Corrigan (Michael Price), Mary Corrigan Woolsey (Bob), Catherine Corrigan Morris, Anne Marchal (Doug) and Prudence Peterson (John). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, Emily, Kevin, Catherine, Kendall, Anne Marie, Michael, Jack, Cooper, Alex, Kristen, Patrick, Will, Madeleine and Sean; two great-grandchildren, Anna Claire and Elly; and a very dear friend and cousin, William Nichols. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to their father's caregiver and friend, Damien Bailey and for the comfort and support provided by Hosparus. His funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 3345 Lexington Road, with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road. Memorial gifts may be made to Hosparus of Louisville.
