Obituary:
John Greer, 61 of Gardendale, TX passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2018. Memorial Service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel in Midland. John Greer was born on July 22, 1957 in Fort Stockton, TX. to Charles & Ellen Greer. After high school, he went on to proudly serve his country as a member of the Navy. After his military service ended, he spent many of the next years focusing on raising his three children. He had a strong faith in the Lord and political stance and would gladly debate either subject, with any that dared. He was widely known for his lightheartedness and sense of humor after having perfected the all famous "dad jokes". Even in his final days, he found joy in making sure everyone was laughing. He was a loving father and grandfather and will greatly be missed. John Greer is survived by his parents, Charles & Ellen Greer; sisters, Lisa Williams and Ellen Greer; brother, Bill Greer; son, Tony and his wife Christine Greer, son, Caleb and his wife Leanna Greer, daughter, Amber and her husband Cody Satterfield; and grandchildren, Angela Greer, Levi Thompson, Mila Greer, Calea Greer, Blake Satterfield, Adelaide Satterfield, Natalie Greer, and Axton Satterfield. John Greer is preceded in death by brother, Robert James Greer and 3 grandchildren, Taylor Greer, Anthony Greer Jr. and Dylan Greer. The family would like to express their gratitude towards Mission Center Adult Day Services of Midland for going above and beyond in their care, while John was an attending member. The program did wonders, giving him a sense of belonging, and the friendships that he built there meant everything to him. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mission Center Adult Day Services of Midland. Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
