Student who was killed in the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Scotland. Tom was a junior at Ohio Wesleyan University in Deleware,Ohio.
After the crash a memorial quilt was designed to remember the victims. Tom's "piece of the quilt" contains the following.... His favorite sports, skiing and sailing, Pine Island Camp in Belgrade Lakes, maine where he was a camper and then moved on to junior counsellor and then senior teaching sailing and taking the campers on outward bound canoeing and hiking trips in the mountains of Maine and New Hampshire.
When he died, his fellow camp friends designed a camp tee shirt to sell and to raise money to built a cabin in Tom's memory. They did all the work by hand as there is no electricity on the island. It took many hours and many weekends in the cold fall weather, the last coat of paint went on as the snow was flying.
The dog represents his yellow Labrador Retrievers, Teddy and Butch. The picture of Tom was taken by his mother on the day she last saw him in London, November 14,1988. The view is overlooking Kennsington Palace where Princess Diana and Prince Charles were living. The color blue was his favorite.
