BEDFORD, Ind. -- Rites for Roy E. Speer, 56, were held here today at the Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home which he formerly owned.
Speer, who became a partner in the funeral home in 1954 and sole owner in 1957, died Wednesday at his Bedford home.
He owned the mortuary, then named the Ferguson-Lee-Speer Funeral Home, until 1959 when he purchased the Rosemount Motel which he operated until his retirement this year.
Speer formerly was an agent with the Western & Southern Life Insurance Co. and had been a member of the board of directors of the Lawrence County Red Cross Chapter 15 years.
Survivors include the widow, Pauline, and a sister, Mrs. Harold Jackman, and a brother, Duard Speer, both of Indianapolis.
