Henderson.

A telegraph message was received by Mrs. Samuel Churchill, this city, announcing the death of her mother, Mrs. Sarah I. Henderson, that occurred Tuesday at the home of another daughter, Mrs. Ida Carlson, near Victoria, Knox county. Mrs. Henderson has been a sufferer for years from heart trouble. Some four weeks ago she went from Mrs. Churchill's, where she has made her home for a year or more past, to visit with the Knox county daughter named. The relatives here knew nothing of her being worse until the arrival of the telegram announcing her death.

She will be buried in what is known as the Humbert, or Spring Creek, burying ground, where the ashes of her husband, parents and a number of brothers rest. The time of the funeral will depend on when the body will arrive here. It is believed, however, the intrement [sic] will take place Thursday afternoon.

Sarah Isabell Hainline was born in the southwest corner of what is now Sciota township in the year 1844, and was in her 64th year at time of death. She was the youngest daughter of John and Polly (De Vary) Hainline, pioneers of McDonough, who raised a large family of sons and daughters. She grew to womanhood in that locality and was married to Dr. Roswell Henderson, who for years was a practicing physician in Sciota. He died some twenty-five or more years ago from the result of an injury received when his horse ran away. Left with a family of five small children, the subject of this endured all those privations that belong to widowhood and the raising of a family by her lone effort. She leaves four children, all daughters; Mrs. Churchill and Mrs. Carson [sic], above mentioned, Mrs. Clara Luten [sic] of Good Hope and Mrs. Edith Wright, living at some point in Missouri. She had one son who died several years ago in his young manhood. Besides these she leaves two brothers, Baxter Hainline of Portland, Ore., and John W., who resides in Kansas City, Mo. Also a sister, Mrs. Susan Chaplin, of Jaqua, Kan.
