Mrs. Griffin was a member of the Eager Beaver's Bowling League for many years and volunteered with the Blind Bowler's Association.
Survivors include four children, Louise Butler (Sam), Barbara Harrell (Oliver), Ronnie Griffin (Lee), Rodney Griffin and a son-in-law Peter Heisser; ten grandchildren, Kris, Gary, Skip, Scott, Stephanie, Daniel, Kimberly, Denise, Jon and Amy, sixteen great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 23, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. A graveside service will be held at Rosewood Memorial Park on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at 2:00 p.m.
The family would like to extend a thank you to the staff of Sentara Hospice especially Dawn RN, Doris RN, Heather LPN and Aide Elaine.
