Howard Armer, 79, of Edmond, Oklahoma, was a retired police Captain who served the citizens of Oklahoma City for 35 years, 1963-1998. Howard was a resident of Edmond, Howard was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma December. 11, 1939 to Dorothy Armer. He graduated from Northeast High School, where he was an all-around athlete and voted Most Handsome of his class at graduation. Howard also served his country when he enlisted in the US Marine Corps, serving six years. Howard's service included deciphering Russian morse code while on a nuclear submarine three miles off the coast of Russia. After an honorable discharge, Howard joined the Oklahoma City Police Department and served for 35 years, retiring as a Captain. While employed by the OCPD, he attended college at Oklahoma City University and obtained two bachelors' and a master's degree. Those left behind to celebrate his beautiful spirit are his wife, Sondra Osborne Armer; his two devoted daughters, Amanda Armer and Angela Hampton and husband Kirk; and his grandsons, Devan and Aiden Hampton.
