Mendon, Utah— Charles Bird, 88 Mendon, died Thursday, August 27th, 1987, at Logan Regional Hospital. He was born September 15th, 1898, in Mendon, a son of Lewis Richard and Ellen Orrelia Bird. He was a member of the L.D.S. Church, Mendon First Ward. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I and later served a mission for the L.D.S. Church. He was an avid gardener and horticulturist. He was preceded in death by twelve brothers and sisters. He is survived by nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be Monday at one p.m. in the Allen-Hall Mortuary Chapel. Friends may call Sunday from seven to nine p.m. and Monday one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Mendon Cemetery. ~The Herald Journal, August 28th, 1987, page 4.
