John moved from Mercer Co., Pa. to Plum Center, Plum Twp., Venango Co., Pa. prior to 1840. In his will he left 50 acres to his son James & another 50 acres to his son John & the remainder of the farm he left to his unmarried daughter Jane.
Plum Center is located at the intersection of Wallaceville, Knapp & Davison Roads. The original log cabin that John built is long gone but the house where Jane lived still stands. Jane gave the township two acres, across the road from her property, on which to build a school. Plum Center schoolhouse still stands & is now a private residence.
John & Margaret had 8 children, 6 daughters & 2 sons
Burial place is not certain.
