OBITUARY

Madelon P. Bonna, 86, of Scranton, died Tuesday at Mountain View Care Center in Scranton after an illness. She was the widow of William Bonna Sr., who died June 11, 2016. They were married in 1958 in Scranton, PA.

Born Nov. 12, 1937, in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Rocco and Giovanna (Cipriani) Cipriano. Madelon was a 1955 graduate of West Scranton High School, and she attended Lackawanna Junior College. Madelon had a 39-year career in banking and was a member of the American Institute of Banking.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Church, and was a member of the Society of the Faithful.

Madelon's family would like to extend thanks to the "Bella Bay" section of Mountain View Care Center for their wonderful care and compassion.

Surviving are her daughter, Mary Janine Shea, and husband, Thomas, of Scranton; her son, William Bonna Jr. and wife, Ann, of Scranton; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

Madelon was preceded in death by her brothers, John, Samuel, Joseph, Anthony, Patrick, Rocco; and her sisters, Connie Arnold and Mary Siciliano. Madelon was the last of her siblings.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, 1403 Jackson St., Scranton. Friends will be received from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment and rite of committal will be conducted at Cathedral Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick's Church, 1403 Jackson St., Scranton, PA 18504.
